First, the dictionary can help them to find the meaning and the spelling of the words. Beside that, dictionary can help them to find about the pronounciation of the words. The effect is EED students can solve their problem about that things by themselves and they can enrich their mastery of vocabulary. The next reason is because some lectures have told them to bring their own dictionary when they attend the class. The effects are when the students don't bring their own dictionary, they will get some problems. For example, they may not attend the class by the lecturer and they will not be able to find the spelling, meaning, and pronounciation of words. That's why EED students should bring their own dictionary to campus when they have class.
